Kulu Party at Featherstone Castle.

CASTLE PARTY.
We, Kulu have a party in a Castle near Carlisle in Cumbria. It’s called Featherstone Castle, if you google it you’ll be able to see what it looks like. It’s really a very beautiful place.
The country side around it is totally stunning and there’s a fantastic river at the bottom of the field that runs up to the castle. If you go down to the rivers edge early in the morning you often get to see salmon jumping!!! Very romantical!!
So! The event costs £40 per person the date is 13 and 14 of December and here’s what you get for your 40 English pounds -
The weekend itself consists of two rooms with music – chillout and psy-trance. We tend to stick to our resident djs and a few local guests, no big names but who needs names when you have Be23!!
There is also a middle room for chilling. It has a lovely log burning fire and a long table. That’s a great place for stopping and chatting to people. The armchairs in front of the fire are very sort after.
We also have a film room on the Sunday and if you want to stay the Sunday night and snuggle up on the sofas infront of a good film and log fires it costs an extra £15 per person.
There are dorms, so there are beds for everyone and good bathroom facilities – showers, baths and toilets. I recommend a bath, the baths are so old and so very long. I loved my bath in the castle. last year.
We make a shit load of food for everyone on the Saturday – vegie, vegan and meat. We are also careful to cater for people with eating disorders – gluten free, dairy free, tomatoes free, food free…no that doesn’t work. Although there are people out there living on seeds alone.
You can also help yourself to food in the massive kitchen The kitchen is great, I tend to spend a lot of my time in there as it’s lovely and warm – Aga cooker!! and it’s a great place to get to chat to people.
And finally the most important thing is that it’s fancy dress. No exceptions. Everybody crazy!!
My friend Kate who I met last year made me a very beautiful dress, I designed it and she made it and we’d never met each other, we made the dress on line, we met for the first time at the castle and she presented the dress to me. Shes lovely and we had such a wonderful meeting. I can’t wait to see her again.
This is the dress she made me. I love wearing it and for sure will wear it for the party.

And this is Kate, she also made the dresss that she is wearing. Isn’t she very beautiful and talented.

Heres hoping we have a fantastical christmas party. What a great place to have a party – how lucky are we. The people that go are so nice and welcoming. I have wrote a few posts about the Kulu lot. There are lots of fairys at Kulu.
This is kate in one of her outfits. Her clothing line is Technodolly clothing , she makes the most amazingly different clothes. Clothes for women to feel special in.
I love the lights. This picture is so trippy and on that note, time to make coffee and smoke.
See you there hopefully.
Love Di.

I love the name “Featherstone Castle”. It gives me goosebumps. I so wish I was going. It sounds fantastic. I hope you have a wonderful time. I can’t wait to hear about it. The castle looks like something out of a dream.

Hi Joan
The castle is amazing , you would love it. It was my first castle party last year and I went on my own, I’d just started going out after the Shamania festival at the end of the summer, I’d been in the house for two years grieving the deaths of my parents. I had a fantastic time and met some adorable people. The Kulu lot are so nice and welcoming.
It was great to meet Kate and get my dress, she also gave me a beautiful pink alter neck dress to as a gift.
BUT !!
I may not go yet if I don’t feel well enough. I still don’t feel right Joan. I’m tons better but I don’t know if I have the energy for the castle.
I felt like I was in a dream last year. This is a great shot of the castle, quess what Joan, a man lives there on his own, he owns it and is a relative of one of the DJ’s at Kulu. Hes been letting it out for parties for a few years now – arn’t we lucky.
I so wanted to help keep it clean last year and stayed till Monday cleaning up with everybody, I loved that bit. I was one of the last to leave, didn’t want to come home.
I love Featherstone Castle.
Love
